INDIAN CHRISTIAN BETHEL BAPTIST GOSPEL FELLOWSHIP (ICBBGF)
(Gospel and Missions wing of Baptist India Ministries)

Need for Mission in India

India, a secular and democratic country, is standing with population of one billion.

There are 3000 casts and sub-casts. 50% of the population has never heard the name of Jesus;

330 million gods are worshipped; Hinduism is the major religion with 85% of India’s population;

80% people live in 600,000 villages. 500,000 villages have no gospel workers or church.

Born again Christians are just 2% out of the expected 3.5% Christians; 55,000 people die each day eternally separated from Jesus Christ.

Vision and Mission:

Baptist India is committed to reach each perishing soul, especially in the villages and towns, with the gospel of Christ and working with a vision to plant a church in each major village and town of Andhra Pradesh at first and then in the other states of India. For more information…

Changing Conditions:

The atmosphere for mission in India is rapidly changing. Several state governments banned the preaching of foreign missionaries or visitors and are asked to sit among the public just as audience, baptisms in public witness is phohibited, conversions into Christianity is considered crime, many restrictions on tracts distributions and so on. It is even openly announced by a reknowned political leader that in few years time India is going to be a Hindu country...which means there is no space for mission at all.

Realities in the field:

Just in last one decade itself thousands of pastors were persecuted, dragged to the street, nuns were raped, number of churches were demolished down to the roots and several were attacked or damaged. In spite our pastors are continuing their commitment in this faith battle sharing the good news and love of Christ seeking for the transformation in people lives. Focussing on the vision, pastors are walking miles each week and every day to reach the people, sustaining themselves with the limited resources in the remote corners to plant a church there... and the realities continue. Years of Service:

ICBBGF has given birth to three hundred and fifty churches in the course of its fifty years history. 80% of its churches are located in villages and towns where there is no missions work. Out of Baptist-India’s c.10,000 members, 75% of the believers are not born Christians but who have heard the gospel and believed responding to the love and work of Christ. Apart from the in-born 350 churches, several independent Baptist churches are in fellowship with Baptist India.

Sponsor a Chruch:

Planting a church in a village / town is a progressive work in the course of time. This is a project minimum of two years which is committed by the respective missionary sent to the particular village.

The expenses for a missionary would vary according to the living conditions. The range would be from $30-$70 per month to care completely a missionary family and $ 500 - 700 to buy a piece of land and plant initial church with bamboo sticks, etc.

The church building would cost $ 3000- 5000, when the work progresses.

You are welcome to adopt a church planting project as God leads you; Please write to us at missions@baptistindia.org, and we will send you the details of a village/town.

You are welcome to visit the church of your choice and our ministries any time during the project period and we will be pleased by your visit.

Assist a Pastors:

Missionaries are considered pastors after planting the church in the respective village / town. The local church will support the pastor to some extent, however due to the living conditions in the villages and town every pastor needs some pastoral assistance.

A minimum $ 50 would help a pastor to care his family, children’s education, etc.,

Likewise $ 700-1000 would enable a pastor to own a two wheeler vehicle

You are welcome to sponsor a pastor as God leads you; Please write to us at missions@baptistindia.org, and we will send you the details of the pastor and his congregation.

You are welcome to visit the church of your choice and our ministries any time and we will be pleased by your visit.

Golden Jubliee:
